New Year’s Eve Glam Makeup Look

I fully believe that New Year’s makeup, New Year’s Eve hairstyles, and New Year’s Eve Nail design shouldn’t be relegated to just one night, once a year—especially considering 2020/2021’s New Year’s Eve is going to look a little different this season.

There are so many things we love about New Year’s Eve —making our resolutions for the upcoming year and we deserve a flaunting gorgeous New Year’s Eve Eye makeup look.

New Year’s is the perfect time to switch things up. After a year I switch from a Warm, Natural look to a Glam Smokey look. As far as colors go, it doesn’t get more festive than a metallic hue—we’re especially fans of gold. I add light gold on my Eye Lid, blended matte on my crease, outer v, and Gold Metal on my Lower Lash Line to give my eyes more pop. Red lips will always be a top pick for the holidays, and your New Year’s Eve makeup look is no exception. Ring in 2021 with a glossy, sheer red lip. I can’t deny that this is the ultimate universal look.

4 Semi-Permanent Makeup After Care

EYEBROW

Your eyebrows need to be gently blotted to remove excess body fluids to eliminate crusting. Make sure you wash your hair with your head tilted back to stop water running down your face. Nothing else should be applied during the first day after the procedure. For the first 24 hours after treatment, wipe your eyebrows with cooled boiled water on a cotton wool pad then pat them dry with a clean tissue. Clean the area 2 times daily (morning and night) with a gentle cleanser followed by your aftercare cream and continue for the next 7-14 days. Dispose of the micro brush/cotton tip immediately after each application. This keeps the area protected with a breathable barrier and supports healing. Make sure to wash your hands prior to touching the area.

EYELINER

Swelling differs with each individual. You may apply an ice pack to the area to reduce swelling and soothe the area and make sure you move the ice pack around, not leaving it too long in one area, in order to prevent frostbite. For the next 7 days, apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment daily. You can also use a warm, damp cotton pad to gently wipe the area. Do not use contact lenses, eye makeup, or mascara for 7 days post-procedure and any lash-enhancing products or fake lashes for 14 days post-procedure. New mascara has to be purchased but not to be used until at least 7 days after the procedure. Avoid swimming in pools for 5 days post-procedure, as bacteria and chemicals in the water may be irritating. Do not swim in the ocean for 14 days post-procedure as the saltwater will pull the pigment out. If your eyes feel itchy and irritated you may have a minor irritation to the aftercare ointment. You should discontinue all ointment, wash your eyes to remove the ointment and let it heal dry. If your eyes are red and emitting any white or yellow discharge, or very itchy, you may have a minor eye infection. In this case, rinse your eyes to remove the ointment and visit your pharmacist or doctor to request antibiotic eye drops. Eye infections are extremely rare but can happen, so always wash your hands when treating your eyes and apply a very tiny amount of aftercare ointment.

LIPS

After 2 hours and before you go to bed gently blot the area with a damp cotton wool pad to remove excess body fluids and tiny blood spots to eliminate crusting. You may also apply a cold compress or ice pack to the area to reduce swelling during the first 72 hours of healing; make sure you move the ice pack around, not leaving it too long in one area, in order to prevent frostbite. During the healing period, avoid wiping/ licking the lips. Apply the healing balm every hour whilst awake. Do not apply lipstick until after 7 days. It is possible that an allergic reaction to the ingredients of the lipstick may occur should you apply within this period. Be careful when eating spicy, salty or citrus foods; avoid them if possible. Drink through a straw to prevent contact with contaminates and washing off your healing balm and also be careful when brushing your teeth as toothpaste can pull out the pigment out of the lip vermilion.

LASHES(Extension & Lash Lift)

Eyelash adhesive actually takes 24 hours to completely cure and therefore, the first 24 hours are the most important time to ensure that your lashes will last.

  • Do not wet or rub your eyelashes – Exposing your new Lashes to any moisture such as steam, high humidity and water, will result in the lash glue over-curing and becoming brittle, and your extensions will fall off within a few days.
  • Do not apply cream around the eye – Clean them gently, as instructed by your lash technician and with a designated lash cleanser. Bodily oils that travel onto your extensions will break down adhesive if not removed by cleaning. Failure to clean your lashes will not only result in poor retention, but the build up of bacteria, and can lead to eye infections.
  • Do not wet or rub your eyelashes – Exposing your new extensions to any moisture such as steam, high humidity and water, will result in the lash glue over-curing and becoming brittle, and your extensions will fall off within a few days.
  • Do not pick or pull at your extensions. The adhesive, although safe to use, is very strong and picking or pulling will pull your natural lashes out.
  • Do not sleep on your face. Your extensions are delicate, so ‘face planting’ in your pillow will cause your extensions to fall out where they are being rubbed out in the night.
  • Do not apply mascara, Liquid or Gel Eyeliner – It will adhere to the extensions, cannot be safely cleansed off and will create a breeding ground for bacteria. If you ignore this rule then you may be charged for a removal and full set.
  • Comb or Brush your eyelashes upwards every day – To keep them looking neat, tidy and uniformed.
  • Do not sleep on your face – Your extensions are delicate, so ‘face planting’ in your pillow will cause your extensions to fall out where they are being rubbed out in the night.
  • Use Lashes nourishing mascara every day. Do not swim.

NOTE & TIPS– There is a very small risk of immediate or delayed allergic reaction to pigments, topical anaesthetic or aftercare cream. However allergic reactions are extremely rare. A negative sensitivity/allergy patch test does not guarantee that you will not have an allergic reaction during or after the procedure. I therefore do not offer a patch test unless requested by yourself in which case beauty artist need at least 2 weeks notice before the date of your treatment. If the aftercare is not followed correctly then the finished result may not be desirable and you may need additional treatments which will be at a further cost to yourself. Everyone’s skin is different and some people’s skin takes better to it than others. Infections and allergic reactions although very rare, can happen. To avoid infection please follow the aftercare instructions correctly. An allergic reaction response may include redness, severe itching, swelling, a rash, blistering, dryness or any other symptom associated with an allergy. If this happens, please contact your General Practitioner immediately.

All makeups in the treatment area should be avoided. Minimize workouts that involve a lot of sweating, sauna, facial massage and steaming (inhalation). In the next 30 days, please avoid sunbathing, solarium, light therapies, chemical peelings, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors, laser treatments over the treated area because they can destroy the pigments and cause burns. Avoid the use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy that can lead to a faster pigment fading. Always protect the treatment area from the sun with SPF. No Scrubbing. Do not rub, wipe, or scratch area. Use patting motions only.Keep area clean. Blot or rinse off oozing. Soap/ cleansers may be used as long as they are not alcohol based and do not have anti-aging acids or acne acids in it. Some cleansing chemicals might burn or bleach. If you wouldn’t use a product on any other type of injury, don’t use it on the healing permanent makeup. Rinse and pat dry.Do not peel or pick at crust, this could cause pigment loss, scarring, and delayed healing.

4 Tips of Using the Eye Makeup Removal the Right way!

The skin around the eyes is up to 10 times more delicate than the skin of the rest of your face and it’s important to take care the right way. Improper way of removing your eye makeup can lead to puffy eyes, more noticeable wrinkles, sagging skin!

Here’s a few things which you should not to do while removing eye makeup.

  1. DO NOT USE FACIAL CLEANSER ON EYES Using a facial cleanser on your eyes can have a drying effect. You should handle the skin around your eyes like a baby by using a well-balanced eye makeup remover such as Oil-Free Makeup Remover to prevent the area from drying.
  2. TO HAVE SUFFICIENT TIMING The best way to remove eye makeup is to use soaked cotton pads in Oil-Free Makeup Remover and keeping them over your lids and lashes for about 15 seconds to allow remover to dissolve the waterproof makeup before wiping.
  3. DO NOT RUB HARSHLY It can lead to redness and irritation around the eyes, and over time, the formation of fine lines. Remember to be gentle when removing your eye makeup.
  4. DO NOT USE THE COTTON PAD OVER AND OVER You’ll end up redepositing the makeup you just removed. First, use the full pad to wipe across your eye, and then fold the clean side in half. Now, fold the side in quarters so you can clean the leftovers without using your entire stack of cotton pads.

I recommend Mary Kay® Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover It gently removes eye makeup, including waterproof mascara, without tugging or pulling the delicate skin in the eye area. Formula does not leave skin feeling greasy and it clinically tested for skin irritancy and allergy. Suitable for contact lens wearers. Suitable for sensitive skin and sensitive eyes. Hypoallergenic, oil-free and ophthalmologist-tested.

($17) (P799)
(P1,300)

I love Clinique products they are fragrance free and always dermatology tested. Clinique makeup remover cleaned my face thoroughly faster and easier. It suitable for all skin types.

How to Apply Mascara like a Pro (Quick Mascara Dating Guide)

Mascara makes your eyes look brighter and full of life, and the lip color adds a little color to your face. So even when you’re going all out on your makeup, the final touches with mascara will complete your look. At the same time, an improper application can ruin your look. If your mascara is clumpy, uneven or smudged-it may end up appalling.

There are few things that can be followed before applying mascara if you’re looking to achieve the full look. Pick the right one before doing anything else, you will have to find mascara that suitable for you.

ROMANTIC EVENING Long, fluttering fringe is a must when staring into each other’s eyes. Be ready for extended, candlelit eye contact with Mary Kay Lash Love Lenghtening Mascara.

How to Apply Mascara Perfectly?

  • CURL YOUR LASHES Start by curling your lashes with lash curler. Place the curler at the base of your upper lashes, close the curler and hold it in a place for a seconds.
  • GET THE PRODUCT ON THE WAND Taking the tube of mascara swirl the wand around to coat with mascara properly. Make sure you’re not pumping your wand in to the tube repeatedly. This pushes air into the tube and makes the mascara clumpy and it dries out faster.
  • COAT YOUR LASHES Starting at the roots, apply the mascara with wriggling motion. This ensures that there is more volume at the roots. You can repeat the mascara application by applying another coat depends on the volume you wish to add to your lashes.
  • DO THE SAME FOR THE LOWER LASHES Since they tend to be sparser and smaller, you might even opt for an altogether different mascara, or switch over the wand that has smaller bristles.
  • BRUSH OUT THE CLUMPS If you have lashes that are sticking together or have clumps you can brush or comb them out with the help of a clean wand.

Mascara Application Tips:

  • The best way to get those curly lashes is to curl your lashes once before applying mascara and after the mascara has dried. To make lashes look extra thick, it’s best to dab and puff the lashes with translucent powder before applying the mascara.
  • If on other hand, you’re going for trendy eye look, In case you have decided to rock, I’m talking about greens, blues, purples it looks gorgeous though you can skip your smokey eyes effect.

Now go get and play your Mascara no matter what the occasion!

What should you expect before you get Semi-Permanent Makeup?

Thinking of getting your makeup permanently applied? Maybe you hate applying your eyeliner, eyebrow daily, or you aren’t able to apply it as precisely as you’d like, or maybe you just hate the constant struggle of trying to achieve the perfect cat eye or perfect eyebrow. Or maybe you don’t have time every day and rushing to go to work without eyebrow. Whatever your reasons, you may find a solution in getting semi-permanent makeup.

First of all, it’s important to note that permanent eyeliner, eyebrow, lip tint isn’t really permanent (more on that later). It’s just the term that the industry uses, and is more accurately semi-permanent. A needle is used to deposit ink into the skin. The process isn’t the same as getting a tattoo because the pigment is deposited only into the first layers of the skin. The ink used for regular body tattoos is formulated differently and goes much deeper. The longevity of the color and its visibility will eventually fade depends on the skin of each person.

“As a precaution, we ask [clients] to stop taking any blood thinners for three days prior, most as possible 1 week before clients appointment, even things like aspirin, Advil, fish oils, certain vitamins, to minimize any potential bleeding, which normally doesn’t happen,” And if you’re pregnant or nursing, or have diabetes or other serious illnesses that affect your immune system and ability to heal, you may not be an ideal candidate of having a semi-permanent makeup or it’s a good idea to speak to your doctor about it before you go ahead with your permanent or semi-permanent makeup application.

The technician or the beauty artist will work with the client and take into account their facial features to determine what size and shape the eyeliner or the eyebrow should be.

How long does the procedure take? The procedure will take depends on how [thick] the client wants it and the skin of the client, If they want traditional eyeliner, natural eyebrow or just like natural lip for lip tint, it can be done in one to two hour, including numbing and pre-drawing, but if they like a wing or cat eye, it would take longer.

Does it hurt? One of the most frequently asked questions about permanent makeup concerns the matter of pain. Luckily there are now many products the permanent makeup technician can use that will reduce the pain of any and all procedures. A numbing cream is applied to the area prior to the actual procedure. Once the effects of the cream kick in, the whole process should theoretically be pretty painless. However, everyone has a different pain tolerance, which means some people might find the procedure to be only minimally uncomfortable, while others may find it to be very painful even with a numbing cream. When thinking about it, most people assume permanent eyeliner is the most painful procedure. Some clients who’ve said their eyeliner procedure was more painful than microblading. Permanent lip work is the most painful procedure but well worth the effort. The freedom from not having to wear lipstick while exercising, going out in public and for any time where it might be a hassle, makes permanent lip color a wonderful service to consider.

What’s the healing process? You may experience some scabbing, but it will likely be minimal. If you do have scabbing, do not pick it off, you may notice little black flakes fall out. The application should generally heal within three to seven days, but a thicker application may take seven to 10 days. You should definitely avoid touching or rubbing while they heal, so you don’t spread any germs or bacteria around the area but the healing process differs from person to person and depends on several factors.

How long does it last? And if you hate it, will it ever fully disappear? The “tattooed” eyeliner typically lasts about a year, though it could last two or three years. However, the pigment will eventually fade. Some of my clients come back after about a year to get touch-ups. If you eventually decide you don’t want the eyeliner, it’s possible for it to completely fade in one to three years. Everyone’s skin holds the pigment differently, so it’s tough to say how long it will take for the liner to become invisible. Microblading generally lasts from 12 to 24 months, although depending on the individual it can last longer. From 12-15 months after your initial visit, you can book an appointment to maintain your eyebrow shape and give the color a boost. The healing process differs from person to person and depends on several factors.

The big question: How much does it cost? Having your eyeliner, eyebrow or whatever semi-permanent makeup you want to apply this way definitely doesn’t come cheap. Semi-Permanent makeup typically costs $50 to $800 per procedure, depending on the type of makeup, the body part and number of visits required. Eyebrows, which usually require two visits, usually cost $400 to $600. Permanent eyeliner usually costs $200 to $400 for just upper or just lower eyeliner, or $400 to $600 for upper and lower. A full lip color with liner, which typically requires two to three visits, typically costs $600 to $800. As with any tattoo, color can fade over time and periodic touch-ups might be required. And the cost still depends on the clinic or area.
